I hope this is useful to you and other users. IMHO a small piece of paper with three steps: 1) install the board (showing the nuts upside), 2) install drivers (link to site), 3) Enjoy! would go some ways towards saving figure-out time. I think your product is great, thank you for producing and supporting it. A big advantage of using this card over USB audio with Kodi (1) is that the default Kodi (1) setup always resamples to 48k over USB with this card, the exact sample rate of the video or audio files are output to the DAC, even 192kHz/24 bit files. Getting this to work was also tricky, and the solution was to make sure to enable "Enable Dolby Digital (AC3) transcoding". After this it was easy to move onĤ- In my case I'm using Kodi on a Retropie (Raspbian) distribution and want to use its video player to play audio pass-through on the HiFiBerry Digi+ S/PDIF. This was my actual problem why I couldn't see the board before. I also have a bluetooth speaker I want to use. But after some googling and stumbling across forums, I finally found this. The kodi is connected to my TV with HDMI so all sounds are coming from it. I somehow thought they would be auto-recognized on this day and age. This ends up looking exactly like "Step 2: Connect the Hardware" here: ģ- I didn't realize I had to configure the driviers. Perhaps the connections are just fine that way. Since I was having trouble (for other reasons turned out) I ended up doing as Frederik above mentioned and only left two spacers. Maybe this is obvious to many, but I would have appreciated a small diagram showing that nuts should go up-sideĢ- If using the spacers in the four corners, the HAT board doesn't fully sit. I originally placed them with the nut facing down and it took me a while to figure out that wouldn't let the system fit into the case, which I also bought. But being a media server with such a high set of the online repo, it is always subjected to some sort of issues. Kodi users can install the repository addon on their device and get access to entertainment with ease. Thank you very much for quickly checking and for your active support here.įor the record in case it is useful as feedback and for others arriving here, these were exactly the things that were non-obvious to me - probably because I'm a little dumb, but perhaps others self-classify as such too:ġ- The spacers don't have any up or down indicators. Generally, Kodi itself does not host any files but any developer can create a repository file to host content. Your ears get exactly whats in the files no silence inserted in-between. The most important reason people chose aqualung is: Aqualung offers continuous, gap-free playback of consecutive tracks. After a couple of hours of Googling and testing I finally have everything working. In the question What are the best audio players for Linux aqualung is ranked 28th while Kodi is ranked 38th.
